I was sitting in Walgreens tonight waiting for my passport pictures to get developed, (Hey, you never know when the chance to go out of the country will arise) and I started laughing out loud. You see, BFL*, Sissy, and I used to go to Walgreens years ago and buy a bunch of make up and nail crap. We probably spent the better part of our allowance (did we get an allowance?) at Walgreens on crap that we didn't need.
It made me laugh to think about it. Then I started thinking about all of the other random crap we used to do.
For example, BFL, Sissy, Freckles, Rejuba, Quintomom*, and I used to go to Circle K to get hot chocolate and we would put the little creamers in it. It was delicious! But on the way there we would be calling out the order in which we got to dispense the water. You see, the first cup of water to come out was so hot that you couldn't drink it for at least 15 minutes, but if you were the last, your water wasn't hot. The result of this was that we usually spent a ridiculous amount of time in the store waiting for the water to heat back up so the next person could get their hot chocolate.
And then we would have scavenger hunts. These were great! Probably not very safe, but whatever. We would break into two teams and put clues around town and then we would drive like crazy around town to try to win the contest.
And there are a million stories like that. All just as silly and small town as the last one. But so great.
It made me realize that you can't erase the history that you have.
Old friends are the best kind.
They know you.
And helped to make you the person that you are.
Relating to the title of this post, Dirty's dad one day said to her, "L-M-A-O."
You may need to know him to think it's funny.
It still makes me laugh to think about it though.
